No need, I am a smart business person, just that if I went back in time I would probably have done a business degree instead.
What can I say, the women are hotter :gsmile: |

If you don't have a passion for practicing law than its amazing you got through law school to be honest. On the other hand you didn't say where you went to Law School.
If you went to a school and ended up not passing the bar because of it then maybe you were coddled in a way that let you think it might be a career for you. Otherwise you shoulda passed. I heard the California bar is not that hard compared to a lot of other states. :p |
California and NY are the hardest as far as I know. |

Smart people get a business degree.
Everything else is pointless.
<---Science degree |
You did well with a science degree. A degree in business is a waste of money & time. |

Unless it's an MBA, it is a waste. Ideally, a high paying job with lots of opportunities would need either:
MEng + JD = Patent Lawyer
MEng + MBA = Business Owner or some equivalent
JD + MBA = Owner of a Law Firm
Does this seem relatively accurate? |

| An MBA is completely irrelevant for most law firm partner positions. I'm generally skeptical with respect to its utility. |

Not really. This is how I see it:
PhD + BMW = Successful Scientist
IDDQD + IDKFA = Everything you'll ever need |

Most JD I know don't have an MBA and own their own firms or are partners in their firms. They just seem naturally good at it. :p |

I firmly believe Law School killed my sister's soul. I knew I was too much of an iconoclast to even think about it, so I didn't consider going. She, however, had no idea of what she wanted to do in life and was told "Law School is a good choice".
Poor her... rip :( |
It is hard and a very good foundation if you want to get into upper level management positions if you're going that route rather than a practising solicitor, a lot of CEO's and managers tend to have a degree in law. My girly survived it but she's got a formidable academic ability to remember massive amounts of otherwise completely uninteresting crap... and all the bad things I get up too :(
As for business, degrees there are sometimes a much-a-much if you run your own business, I don't have any but I've got demonstrated ability and did a lot of secondary studies in the art of sales and the psychology of leadership while I was working.
Academically, I think I'm technically a complete spastic.

Awww, don't worry Lira. There's no such thing as a soul. She'll be fine. |

| Not surprising; a lot of my classmates are idiots. Most of them, actually. Some our top students can't even alphabetize. |

Every degree is worthless to be honest.
Inflation of education. Everyone has them, some are better for generally getting a job than others.
I have Business and IT degree, scraped a first class. All I have learnt from this is that I don't want to work in an office. Before that I did a year of Biology, hated it for the simple fact what you learn in lower education is all simplified and often incorrect bull. So you need to relearn everything, again.
I adore the sciences, they fascinate me. It's even crossed my mind to go back and study physics or something, but in terms of jobs it's research, or education. That's you lot.
From my 6 years at university (I'm doing a post grad now) I have met many people, and more or less every discipline says there are no jobs in the field.
Right now I am sick of academia, I'd love to just go dig up a road for a few years in some warm country and then just about in the evening getting drunk or stoned doing something I enjoy. But this isn't sensible is it? :( |

What? You really believe that? There are plenty of job opportunities in a bunch of fields, especially Engineering. Lots of openings for Computer, Electrical, Biomedical, Nuclear, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineers, in terms of finding alternative energy methods. You aren't guaranteed a job, however, that's why you have to know the right people and work really hard to find something that fits you.

Hah, I'm all about that, I've been in college for 4 years already and I'm definitely tired of it. Hopefully I will be out soon. |
