Miss You Kick Drum.wav - 0.07MB

Anyone smart enough to know how to make something as punchy as this?

layer 2-3 kicks + compression and eq

yep, I don't know how to create kicks like that from scratch if that's what you're asking but with the right samples you can easily make kicks punchier than that with just layering and compression
msz

I made a kick out the windows ballon pop noise last night. I'm not taking the piss it was pretty easy.

Sample...

Also don't forget there are about 3 other noises going on in that clip you provided. Like 2 hats and some swishy sweep thing. That closed hat that lands on the kick gives it a lot of presence. so try adding a hat on top of your bass drum.

Theses days though as people have mentioned, just save yourself hassle and sample. There so many about why waste time?

This helps a lot, seems to be what gives selu vibra's kicks so much power:

Yup, it's an age old technique.

Try other instruments too, wood blocks, snares, rides, etc...

Also over drive can work wonders on quite 'pure' don't go for over kill though, just rough them up a bit.

I'll keep this in mind.

Never underestimate the power of samples.

I produced this in 3 hours or so with windows xp sounds only. Everything from fx and percussion to the pads is from manipulation of windows sounds.

If anyone is interested in the making of this, I'll gladly provide a breakdown of what I did and the FL zipped file too.

Enjoy...
