White sorority wins Sprite step competition; Black sorority complains and then wins (pg. 2)

this reminds me of when i was younger
i was in like 4th or 5th grade
at the end of the school year each class in our grade had a sports competition
the last competition was a relay race
there was 3 teams:
one team dropped the baton so they were automatically out of the race
second team: one of the class mates fell down during the race and got hurt and they didnt win the race
so needless to say my class was the winner, or so i thought
we got silver
so our whole class was pretty much pissed like wtf just happened? how are we gettin silver when we won the race?
turns out the students in the class were crying and saying we should have won and carried on blah blah blah so the principle and the other teachers felt bad for the team whos class mate fell down and got hurt because the majority of the students were minorities. the principle made up some story about how one of our classmates during the race didnt properly hand off the baton to the other classmate. he didnt want to admit it but thats what really happened
needless to say i didnt even go up and get my medal thats how pissed off i was. i look back now and think about it and i still think i would have accepted the medal
its not the olympics were talkin about here i know, but to kids who are 10 years old and work hard at prepareing for sporting events who actually win, only for it to be taken away because of the race card is such bull |

correct me if i'm wrong but, don't these competitions provide scholarships for people looking to involve dancing in their career, a dance school possibly? same how they have music performance scholarships, ect.
so, honestly, i don't really see how this is so bad |
