-----WMC-----Transportation 411=====----------=======

So I hated reading that someone got charged $60 for a $20 cab ride at WMC! I have read a few things here and there about getting around, but I'm hoping we can help each other out and make this the official 411 thread on transportation around SoBe/Miami during WMC.

Here are a few things I've discovered:

The South Beach Local bus runs around SoBe every 10-15 minutes (per the schedule online) and costs a quarter.

The Airport Flyer (Route 150) will provide express service from about 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, between MIA and Miami Beach, making one stop at the Earlington Heights Metrorail station. For just $2.35 each way, passengers can ride in style aboard 40-foot buses equipped with luggage racks and comfortable seating. Buses will be specially branded for easy identification by the public.

So I'm wondering how public transport is in Miami? I've seen both extremes...in Europe, everyone takes the train/bus without a second thought, and in LA it's pretty much only the maids and cleaning people going to work (although it's changing a little bit with the price of gas going up).

Good info.

i've checked bus routes on my iphone to and fro certain places. seems like the venetian causeway is a smarter route for people looking to go to Space/Nocturnal/Karu&Y/UltraFest. It's a bit more travel time, but will probably save you the headache of line waiting at the bustops

Thanks for the heads up!

I'm looking forward to that public transportation thread, it is what we'll be relying on mostly!

not always true. if you and some buddies of yours raced, one of you going on the macarthur and one of you on the venetian. youd probably need a coin to decide who was gonna win. :p

i'll try and get the last couple things updated for the thread and post it today. cant make any promises but i'll try. ;)
