Audio going out of sync eventually turning into clicks then dying?

I have just re installed everything, I started a new project and it was ok but the audio was gradually getting worse missing midi notes then crackling and it eventually just got so bad I heard it fizzle away into clicks then barely anything.

I tried to do a mixdown to show you guys and it said error while exporting audio?

Whats happened to my audio?

yep Cubase sx3 not pirated. However z3ta was pirated and that was playing the thing that died. Maybe its that, guess thats why you dont get synths of your mate!

sounds like drivers to me, which soundcard. did you try a older drivers?

Its a EMU 0404 pci and i used the driver disc, thanks for reminding me though I didnt go to the website and update drivers which usually fixes things like this :)

This used to happen all the time when I used my Virus. It eventually became unusable, but when I upgraded my PC it worked again.

Edit: I'm not saying you need to upgrade your PC BTW :p

Its definately not the pc, it was more than capable before of working with large projects while watching youtube emailing facebook etc. Plus i just did a fresh install so it has a clean registry etc. Wierd its not happening now?

make sure you disable your onboard sound in BIOS (i bet his does it!)
