Embrace & Canadian Music Week are pleased to announce the Red Bull Thre3Style National Final with A-Trak, Klever & Skratch Bastid live at the Sound Academy on Saturday, March 13, 2010.
Hitting 10 cities across Canada in 2010, Red Bull Thre3Style featured 8 of the best local DJs throwing down their best party sets. The challenge: each DJ needs to deliver 15 minutes of sonic infamy that incorporates a minimum of three genres of music. The constant: a pulsating, all-in all-out crowd. Capping each night is a special headlining performance from Canadian DJ legend Skratch Bastid. The tools: Two Technics 1200 Turntables, one Rane TTM57 mixer, terabytes of tracks and years of sleepless nights djing. Hosted by Canadian omni-genre musician Curtis Santiago, Red Bull Thre3Style featured the industry’s top talent – music writers, musicians, promoters, bloggers and headlining DJ’s – judging the DJs, evaluating each performer based on Originality/creativity, track selection, skills, stage presence, and audience response. The winner of each stop will be performing at the National Final. And that’s a party no one wants to miss, or forget.
The National Final will feature DJ superstar A-Trak as well as Klever & local hero Skratch Bastid. When A-Trak was 13 he took his bar mitzvah money and bought himself some turntables and a mixer. The rest is history. This scratch phenom and party rocker par excellence currently pulls triple duty as personal DJ for Kanye West, in-demand remixer and producer, and co-owner of Fool's Gold. In February 2010, it was announced that A-Trak will work with Travis Barker doing club shows that Travis Barker once use to do with the late DJ AM. The first shows will take place March 9th and 10th at The Roxy in West Hollywood. A-Trak will then head to Toronto to perform at the Sound Academy on March 13th with the winners on each stop of the Red Bull Thre3Style Canadian tour.
