The Vice opinion is interesting. When it comes to using unusual chemicals, I think that they should be performing allergy tests to ensure safety. It isn't like you can go out and buy a container of whatever they are using and test it out on yourself prior to getting it done. Perhaps a 15 minute consultation where they get some chemicals put on their wrist to see if they will react, and then get the actual procedure done 3 days later.
It's a bit different to compare chemicals to food etc. which can easily be tested prior to being eaten. So although I think that the rampant law suits are often bull, I think the victim in this case has a valid point. Perhaps it should be brought to the attention of health and safety boards though seeing as the salon can't really be expected to do something when they aren't required to. |
