Anyone know how to get rid of that stupid hissing noise when recording from vinyl?

Tried audacity which is the best known recorder, even with its built in effects, doesnt effectively do anything. Is there any possible way to make the track sound as if it doesnt exist? Like removing the red eye from photos.

This is the only useful thing you said, filtering it out would not be a good idea as the hiss is actually quite wide on the eq. Say you shave of the top freqs apart from ruining the sound of the record you would only dampen the hiss not eliminate it.

Compressing the high end. that is just total total nonsense...I cant even believe you said it. If you would have said use a gate which wouldnt work either i would have at least give you some credit for thinking.

I've been doing that with all the recorded files but you would still hear the needle tracking overpowering the actual track, along with a few minor pops or clicks (weird because the records are absolutely in mint condition), in this case FL Studio has its own equalisers/compressors/filters etc.

Any software you could suggest?

2. Filter it out using precise eq filtering

vinyl tends to be knocked off at a much lower range than the vinyl broadcasts off - so simply compressing your upper eq band should at some point make the hiss inaudible.

Note though, unless you own the copyright recording the work may be illegal in your jurisdiction.

PM me if you need more help.

LMAO! Good ol' fashioned hiss removal software.

Just cover over it with white noise through band-pass filter sweeps and no one will notice the hiss.

It will sound like a real live DJ is doing it! :D

No I can just spot when an amature is trying to give advice. It was bad advice all you needed to say was head to the production forum and/or use specialist software. The rest was so wrong it didnt even make sense.
