after all these yrs of listening to dance music, i finally discovered the seductive sounds of the drum and the bass. yes, i went to utopia, and no, i didn't want to meet up with other tranceaddicts (sori joecool) coz i didn't really want to go but it was a present so...

anyway, the main room and stuffz were pretty boring, until i went for a toilet break and found the D&B room. i thought, "not bad, i;ll drag my other friends here",, and the rest of the nite (the 1-2 hrs anyway) i spent there was pure bliss... (yeah dj ritual and mc antic)

i know, lots of these threads goes on and u look at my sign-in date and it reads oct 2000, but i;m not as fanatical as some of you (hehe) coz i just dun have the rite friends who listen to these stuffz/go out with me and the time to hunt them down.

anyway, just want to show my appreciation for the rave thing, even if it has become a bit passed it due day, it still gave me a new avenue to head towards in music.

so how did everyone (or mayb it was just me and joecool) enjoy/feel the s with this utopia??

cheers

D&B is pretty cool ... outta all the other genres u coulda picked instead of trance, I'm glad it was D&B :D

At least it wasn't hip hop or RnB :D:cool:

Although I did say in my last post "anything but utopia" I was dragged into it in the last couple minutes. It was my first Utopia, so I have to admit that main arena is something special... mark dynamix owned!
JoeCool
yeah even if you wanted to meet up it would have been impossible....

8000ppl!!!

coming from perth we dont get too many events of this scale in such cool venues but when i first walked into the main arena to see thewhole bottom area and the seats up the back just FULL of ppl i couldnt believe it.

and the laser show is somethign that ive never seen before...

the tunes werent anything too special in the main room, nothing i didnt hear at sublime on friday, still not too bad none the less.

the main reason i went was to see rob gee and omar santana with my crew from perth.... my ears are still ringing...

overall a wicked night....

hey there joecool.

yeah, i missed the HHC coz i thought they would b playing in the main arena (silly me). was it that good?

yeah webmeister, R&B is the s (i went to a 21st earlier and that was all they played :P) but the chix dig it so...
JoeCool
yeah fenix played a bit of hardcore in the main arena but i missed most of the hhc coz i couldnt find the hardcore room for a cpl of hours lol

but all in all an excellent night :tongue3

I dunno why, but these days, i seem to be moving further and further away from uplifting trance.. strange, but it all sounds so cheesy all of a sudden. DnB and Progressive Trance/House and Breakbeats (ala Adam Freeland, Rennie Pilgrim, Hybrid) seem to satisfy so much more. DnB especially... if any of you have heard Progression Sessions Vol. 6 (Live in America) you'd know what i mean when i say DnB is awesome. Any recommendations on _good_ recent uplifting trance tunes?.. My most recent favourite is Bradski & Jenski - Hardbeat (Humate Mix).. but everything else sounds pretty e... so please enlighten meee :)

Ciao

seems like everyone being slowly converted to the tech-scene ( i for one, by all those banging picotto sets)

cheers
