| Is Paul Oakenfold good in concert? I enjoy his older music. I did not enjoy the Bunnka album. Does anyone know if it's worth going to? He'll be at Epic in Minneapolis on Friday |

| Take that as a no... Care to elaborate? I did enjoy Tiesto when he was promoting his ISOS 5 album, so maybe I just have bad taste? I really did like stuff like great wall, another world, GU 004 new york, creamfields... So if this would be like that I'd enjoy it. |

I've never seen him live and, honestly, I'd probably go see him once to just say I did. But don't expect ANYTHING like his old trance mixes. He's a shadow of his former self. |

*shudders* Looks and sounds like he stepped straight over from shooting This is Spinal Trance.
It's all gone, Pete Tong, indeed. |

| Maybe I'll save my cash for Infected Mushroom, a couple weeks later and $5 cheaper. How can I find who is coming to my area? Is there a good site? I know a couple of venues that have dance music I'd like, but one has only this month on it, and the other is broken. |

| Do the words "ing horrible" mean anything to you? |

| Yeah, your response is ing horribly useless, unless you happen to be extremely knowledgeable and very terse. But I somehow doubt you follow Oakenfold around at concert, and rather I'm betting you just lump all his work after X date to be ty. |

There's a reason for that. |

Go & see for yourself. I'd shoot a Mexican to attend one of his 1999 Essential Mix World Tour gigs, but frankly the Oakie today is all we're going to get.
Do I have fun at his modern gigs? Yes.
Would I keep his modern sets on my hard drive for listening enjoyment? Probably not, as I have his 1999 era to listen to instead.
Not to say that Oakenfold was only good in 1999 (his 1994 Goa mix is wonderful), I'm just citing examples. |

| Much as I don't think he is up to much any more, and his mixing has always been terrible, I still enjoy his shows was more than the new kids on the block. Oakey never plays lots of repetitive trance by numbers, and always throws in some golden oldies :) |

Oakie delivers :D It will be a night to remember.
I have seen him in london at ministry right at the peak of the trance explosion I was so young and I seen him spin in NY a few years back and I have seen him spin in San Francisco several times. All nights were pretty amazing. This looks like a proper production here with the orchestra. Must have cost him a fair to put this show together and entertain you people so do your self a favor and ignore what the idoru hipster is saying and have fun at the oakie party :) |
