So, just got into a huge argument with my girlfriend because I got drunk at one our best friend's civil wedding celebration and said some things to her (our friend).
A little background...this girl is one of our best friends from school and she was on an 7-8 year long relationship with another friend of ours. It was some sort of destructive relationship, they got into arguments all day, she was very jealous, he cheated and other stuff. They finally broke it off and she found another guy, who is way better gor her than my friend. They got married 2 weeks ago, and they will have their religious ceremony tomorrow. I had a little crush on her when we were in school and she found out about it. This was 12 years ago.
So...since I was a bit drunk, I was more outgoing than my usual self and at one point approached her, gave her a hug and said: "I just want you to know that I am sincerely very happy for you. It really is great that you found someone that truly values, loves, and respects you (in allusion to her previous relationship with my friend)."
Well, what do you know? She told my girlfriend that I got drunk and talked to her and "got cuddly with her". I am seriously pissed, because I can't help but think that it was a highly malicious comment. Why the bring something like that up? Even more so, when it's not true.
Now my girlfriend is pissed, and even though I argued that it's obviously her (our friend) who has issues and not me since all I did was make a sincere comment that was clearly twisted into something bad, she won't ing listen. She believes her and not me, even when she (our friend) has had a long history of being one of those persons that gets high on knowing (or even just assuming) that a guy likes her.
Like I said...some ing people.

| I wouldn't go to the wedding. That girl who you call a "friend" is not one. Don't have anything to do with her, not because of your gf but because the type of person she is. Usually women paint themselves as the victim in those types of destructive relationships but they are often equal partners. |

Take heed, woscar. They both make very valid points. You don't need that , and being around it will only serve to escalate it even more. |

Thank you! That's the last thing I said to my gf. The sad thing is that she doesn't understand why. She probably thinks it's just a temper tantrum. |
