It might almost be a good movie. There are so many movies ruined by terrible music selections. I finally saw Layer Cake the other night and it had the same problem, to a lesser degree. Some of the music was perfect and some of it was absolutely god awful, like, where it seemed as if some radio was on in the same room as the TV playing some random song.
No surprise that the guy who had Celine Dion cap his last masterpiece 'Titanic' would go for such ridiculously music on his latest.
I just thought about these things today while listening to one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time:
Somebody needs to make a film with the style and poise of Blade Runner and the technology of Avatar.

avatar was not ruined with music, it was ruined by having a storyline more transparent than cellophane.

Yeah but if you take the music out of Avatar it certainly softens the blow.

Same thing with The Untouchables. But I like the soundtrack on its own.

i suppose...i went to see the movie pretty ed out of my mind, and i still was not able to enjoy it. Some visuals were awesome, but it was still one of the movies i regret spending money on the most...pure elementary school .

That is part of the problem we are discussing. Many of them would be served by letting their events be profound on their own.
We don't need epic music to tell us it sucks when the avatar tree gets blown up, it should be pretty obvious.

What the ? That has to be one of the single greatest soundtracks of all time and, in my opinion, completes the film.

Blade runner's visuals/model work look pretty damn good still. I watched it the other day on blue ray.
