Rising Pad Sound... How to recreate this?
View this Thread in Original format

Hey guys. I've been trying to recreate a rising pad sound as often found in techno and minimal.. I was wondering if anyone on here perhaps knew how to do this...

In the middle of this video..

or perhaps on the song Bad Acid - Deepgroove, which I cannot find a link to right now, but will upload upon request.

Let me know!

Cheers,

Tomas

hmmm kinda sounds like the pitch is bending up.

If only there was some sort of stock midi controller that would bend the pitch.

To be used with a stock instrument with a customizable pitch bend amount ...

That sound is pretty much just two or three instruments pitch bending upwards at different rates with lots of reverb and delay.

You can create the riser very easily on Sylenth 1. I'm sure you can use the same technique for the pads.

Automate it with the MIDI pitch bend. The most important thing is to find an instrument that can assign the pitch bend amount. You'll want something like +24 (two octaves) for this effect.

You can create this effect in NI Massive as the synth allows you to pitch-bend the individual OSCs with ease.

lol @ stock controller + pitch bend. Everyone's gotta learn though right?

The youtube link was good taught me to use the decay on the sweeps.

yea also if you automate sustain upwards the pad will move down, which brings that cool effect that Noob uses in Petit Totocar

he also has a load of other effects on there though.
