Hey, out of nowhere, msn messenger started not signing me in and giving error code: 8e5e0215
I googled it, and there's absolutely no information on it, save for about 3 or 4 other people who've had the same problem.
The Messenger error window also has a link to a solution page here
However, that page - and any page hosted on g.msn.com doesn't load for me.
So, I decided to ping g.msn.com. For some reason, it's being returned as 127.0.0.1 :wtf:
I checked my hosts file and it's not in there, also all the settings on my router are still the way they've always been.
I'm assuming Messenger is running into the same error (routing to localhost) when trying to contact the server?
Anybody have any other recommendations?

| honestly, i'd try a reinstall first. there's so many builds out there that you might have one that's a bit of a bitch. If not, you never know, but I've not had many problems with it lately, esp compared to the old days. |

all good, i fixed it.
apparently some of the dll's got ed somehow so i did a repair from the Install/Uninstall software thing.
working now :) |

looks like it's crashing loading up your contacts. I go with Ian's suggestion, and uninstall, and download/install a new msn version.
