the science of milk and cookies
by: caleb fox

long since the dawn of time has there been 'cookie'. as man progressed, 'cookie' followed suit. it eventually took the plural form of 'cookies' when it was quickly realized that to fully enjoy the essence of 'cookie' you needed more than one. today, 'cookies' come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and flavours.

the pioneers of the 'cookie' industry are the girl scout cookie, and of course, the oreo cookie.

girl scout cookies were first born to out world in the year 1917, when scout mothers decided to fundraise for charities and the local scout troup. today, just about everyone has sampled one of these fine 'cookies' (we know you just have to have more than one).

in the year 1898 a bunch of baking companies joined together and created the National Biscuit Company (NaBisCo). they pioneered the ever popular animal cracker, and then went one step further. the oreo 'cookie' was first produced in the year 1912. the size and shape of this wondrous treat have stayed just about the same, because we all know originality is best. in the year 1975, the NBC decided to expand on the oreo idea, and added a new variation: the double stuff. since then many other hybrids have been created, each one readily accepted oreo addicts worldwide. today, over 362 billion Oreo cookies have been sold, making Oreo 'cookies' the best selling cookie of the 20th century.

most of us know what milk is and where it is obtained, but for the lesser-minded, it comes from cows (simple eh?). you can also get soi-milk at your local vegetarian shop, but that is a BIG NO NO when considering the prospect of milk and cookies.

cups are a synthetic utensil, having evolved from basic wooden bowls to plastic vessels, capable of holding abnormal amounts of liquids. you should always choose your cup wisely, because having to get a new one because of the width factor of your 'cookie' is a sure sign of a 'cookie' novice. choosing a cup with a handle can be a good thing if you want to eat alone, or at the office. if you are going for style and appearence, then check out your local ikea for some funky 'cups'.

ok, so by now i have briefed you on the 'cookie', milk, and your cup. the only thing left is....of course! the eating part! woo hoo!

but wait! if you thought the other stuff was boring, this is where it gets tricky! the dippage of the 'cookie' should always be done with the opposite of your 'good' hand. this is so your 'strong' hand is availbe to ward of others in search of a good cookie. firmly hold your cup, as you don't want your precious milk to spill! now firmly insert your 'cookie' halfways, and no more, into the milk. now before you gobble up your treat, think! you want to have the best of both worlds; 'cookie' and milk, so let that 'cookie' dangle in the milk for one or two seconds. after the time is over, take that 'cookie' and chow it down!

now that you have been learned in the lessons of proper 'cookie' eating....go out and get some cookes and milk!

it's even more annoying when you're eating Timtam (the cookie that you take a little bite on each side and drink coffee with it like a stray and then put it in your mouth and it melts in your mouth and mmmmmmmmmmm) with coffee and the thing melts into the coffee and your hands get all messed up...... poo!

yeah, you see, me and mikefassy have this cookies & milk eating down to perfection. to us, it's an art. here's a tip for all you n00bs: to get more cookie out of your cookies & milk eating experience, first dip half of the cookie, eat that half, then flip the half you have left over and dip a quorter of it. that way you eat 3 quorters of the cookie without getting milk on your fingers!
