OK all
I know this may have been brought up before but I am really debating if spending 85 for Ultra on Friday is really worth it. I guess my dilemma is that I will be stuck and also that the vibe may be quirky wack and somewhat immature. Now wait dont blast me I am not sooty at all - but I also am not a pacifier wearing, pink pants having glow stick dancer- not that there is anything wrong with that but just not my idea of fun for 85 bucks.
Now the pool parties are tempting since its more of a party vibe- with great eye candy to check out (chicks) and a chill vibe.
My question is whats the level of eye candy at Ultra events (guys and girls) since both will bring the opposite sex?
If you are on stimulants ( you fill in the blank) whats more fun - pool parties- or Ultra? Where will you have more fun or freak out lol.
Anyone done on or the other in previous years and regretted not going to one or the other? |

Interesting thanks Pat- others feel free to jump in with your experience with the event. Are you really stuck once your out there because it is pandemonium to get transportation out of there? |

Ultra is a great experience if you have the energy and money. The one draw back of it...it's a 12 hour long festival. You get dirty, smelly and tired by the end of it. And the best club parties are usually Fri/Sat night (subject to opinion/tastes/etc.).
It's definitely a fun experience, I recommend doing Ultra to anyone who hasn't done it yet. But if it's an either or kind of situation, I recommend doing the pool parties and club events. They're more fun on "stimulants" in my opinion.
And there's lot of eye candy for both sexes there. One draw back...by about 6 o'clock there is a swarm of shirtless men...so you're going to end up with other dudes' sweat on ya at some point on Ultra. |

If you have never been to Ultra, then I would recommend to go. More so for Day 2, than Day 1. Simply being, that Ultra has so many artists and different generes that it can open your eyes to artists you might never thought you would have liked before.
Now the pool parties. I love them, except for the Shelbourne parties in that some times it brings out a NY Guido crowd. You have better looking women and a better vibe. Everyone just woke up from the night before, and it only takes a few drinks and some sun to get plastered again. |

How old are you? I'd recommended skipping Ultra. I have a one massive a year policy. Already went to Electric Daisy Carnival this year. |

I was going to open a seperate thread on the guido thing- I am not totally against them but I also dont want to be in a place where I feel out of place since my skin isnt orange, havent been taking roids all year, and my hair isnt all spiked up. The roid rage , liquor and fist pumping gets annoying after a while. Are there any parties that you can recall that are very guido-centric? |

hahaha if thats the case avoid ALL the pool parties...seriously its guido central at Nikki Beach, Shelborne, and Surfcomber.
Unless you can fist pump with the best of them and enjoy looking at semi-plastic women that would never look at you anyway...skip it and do something more fun with your time and money.
I like Ultra just for the fact I can hear DJs i will miss at other parties due to schedule conflicts and you can hit a ton of diff types of EDM you might not usually get a chance to hear..its a fun atmosphere. Just don't drink too much or get wacked out on pills--drink water and go with the flow.
Friday Ultra is not worth it IMO, only Saturday and from about 2pm on.
Ultra ends at midnight, so its not too late to go to other parties from there...plan on going to a downtown party though b/c getting back to South Beach can take a reeeally long time w/ tons of traffic and the buses are never accurate...i remember watching the same bus come by 6-7 times over the course of an hour--it said on it "BEACH" but when you went to get on the bus, the driver said "I'm not goin to the beach! wait for the next bus" haha such a cluster. |

lmfao ANY party with Boris should be avoided if you value your credibility and balls. |

I think the Circoloco party, the pool parties at the National, Beatport at Gansevoort, and the Size matters at Eden Rock will be the pool parties that will fit what you are looking for. |
