As for the OP, I had no such reaction on any of my negatives. That could be because I wasn't really concerned in the first place any time, but still, it did nothing to boost my mood. |

Yes you can. If your partner is aware of your condition, you can have sex with protection just fine.
Life expectancy also isn't easy to determine. You could live for a normal period without any major dramas (look at Magic Johnson as an example), or you could die rather soon.
It doesn't have to be a death sentence though.
What I find disturbing is how you people are getting into these situations where you feel the need for an HIV test is necessary. |

3% chance of condom not being put on properly and you getting aids, serious ing deal.
I wouldn't risk it so I'm sure many chicks wouldn't either.
And I'd think that never being able to have unprotected sex again is pretty bad anyway. |

| There are couples who risk it. Just because most people wouldn't do it in consultation with their partner, doesn't mean that someone else wouldn't. |

| Rapid testing is a godsend- oral swab & results in 20 minutes. No needles, no long waits. I work in an AIDS organization so that's how I know about it. Down side for me is that when I want to get tested, somebody I know is doing the testing. :( |

my friend once had an HIV test done. got a negative result, as far as I know. he also ate some nasty anti-HIV pills as a preventive measure before he got the results. the list of side-effects of that was worse than HIV but he was scared and was prepared to eat a dead rat to save him from HIV. and all because he ed some filthy whore in the ass after meeting her in a pub. nobody even knows if she had anything lol. classic story
