He threw down some great tracsk with superb mixing and lots of sampling and turntablism included. While the track selection was good it was not as innovative a set as I though it would be. he played mostly crowd pleasers and quasi-anthems, almost nothing i hadn't heard before. Most of the scratching was during the first and last songs. While the scratching was respectable it was about as good as Slinky resident Daniel Bailey. He played some great uplifting tracks mixed with some hard ones and even quite a bit of of tech trance. Here's what I can remember in the best order i can come up with..I couldn't ID about 3-4 tracks including his encore at the end. if anyone that was there could help out that would be cool.
Eddie Halliwell @ Club Trees Dallas, Texas
Rank 1 - Such is Life (Deep Dub Mix) <--w/ lots of baby scratches
Reloop - ing Society (Censored Mix?)
Tiesto - In My Memory (Airwave Remix)
Joy Kikitoni - Joyenergizer (Phisical Remix)
Plastic Boy - Silver Bath
Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth (Airwave Remix?)
Jurgen Vries - The Theme <--I can't believe he played this cheese
Rank 1 - Awakening (Cosmic Gate Remix) <--did some wicked with the buildup
Art of Trance - Madagascar (remix?)<--i think he sampled in some smooth ambient female vocals

| Hey Excite, you said "Jurgen Vries - The Theme <--I can't believe he played this cheese" Is there any chance you can explain this to me? For example, does the melody make it cheese to you or the bassline or what? Why is this track cheese and not some of the others on your list? To me cheese is Alice Deejay and other pop type stuff. It seems you have another defination for cheese and im curious to hear what yours is? Thanks. |

the theme is cheese, its is poorly made and peopel only like it coz of that gimmicky meldoy it has, just how everyone used to like sandstrom and ppk. thus it is cheese. i bet u in a few months time many people will be looking down on it. |

| Dumonde Trancer you said "bet u in a few months time many people will be looking down on it." Your right they probably will but for now, it is one of the hottest trance songs out. I have heard Dumonde will be doing a remix and im preety sure Dumonde doesnt remix cheese. |

| Dumonde are remixing it, and it's gonna fooking rock, with any luck, as long as they get the synth right, it'll be good :D |

| your right my memory failed me again. Dumonde does remix cheese. Im not afraid to admit im wrong about that! I still dont think The Theme should be put into a category with the pop trance acts. |

barthezz - on the move was borderline cheese before Dumonde remixed it into a pumpin' anthem. hopefully they can work wonders with this piece of mozzarella also.
i expected more hard, bangin tracks i'd never heard before. eddie halliwell prolly could get just about any promo he wants considering he's a gatecrasher resident yet he chose to spin this gay pride theme. |
