How is Motive Events as a promoter? Are their LA events usually well organized or chaotic? Do they take good care of the djs or are they left on their own devices? I haven't been to any of their festivals so I'm curious....

I've never heard anything good about Motive Events. Long lines, cutting DJ set times short, not even having scheduled DJs show ups, events getting cut short, lack of security, etc.

dont waste your time. they book good djs but run their events like . hell they even charge $20 for an "express line" because their lines are so damn long so they can make another buck off ravers. plus their venue for 420 Festival is in in Victorville LOL!

Greeeeat, this is what I was afraid of  A friend of mine is gonna play at a Motive event so I hope they're better organized behind the scenes at least :nervous: And I agree: Victorville is a bit ridiculous.

Wow that sucks. Well if theres one positive, they hosted an event at the same venue about a month ago, so maybe they will learn from some of their problems occurred, and can fix them for this event. However from what I've heard, motive events really bring out the scum crowd wise.

MOTIVE EVENTS.
their events at that ty nazi water park in San Bernadino that got shutdown, the security tackled people and practically assaulted them with unneccessary force.
Yeah seriously, at their most recent rave, Love Groove, there was a $20 cash express line because the regular line was almost comparable to 2008 EDC. I can't imagine people having waited in that, complete BS.
Also, they blocked off the trance room when it wasnt even that full. Sean Tyas like just got on after Matt Cerf, I went outside to buy water, and they weren't letting people back in. I ended up at the house room where I heard from someone that they closed another room of some other genre.
In regards to the Love Groove/420 Festival being in Victorville, well, it may be the only place that they can get since that stupid waterpark can't hold raves. At least for the 420 festival you guys KNOW its in Victorville. They didn't announce the location of Love Groove until a couple of weeks before the event.
@ anomalies - in regards to motive events bringing out scum crowd, recently in the last couple of years, I'm not sure if i just notice it more or the "rave" rave crowd turns scummier and scummier. I've been to 3 motive events 2 in 2008 and one just now. There are much fewer old school PLUR candy ravers than ever, and strangely of all places, I meet more at insomniac events. I used to not care too much for insomniac but when the competing rave production crews are much, much, much worse, insomniac is pretty ok.
Also, in terms of artists not showing up, I don't know if Yoji ever got to play. Did anyone go that knows?
