| Hows the scene in lovely DC? I recently moved to the DC area from the OC/LA scene. Suffice to say i knew the scene in LA/OC and although it had its pitfalls it was pretty strong for any genre of EDM. So from what i have been observing thus far in DC is Trance seems to be the big DJ night on Saturday nights at Glow. With tech/house DJs on random nights like Tuesday and Thursday. Is this the norm? I am pretty much into anything EDM as long as its good. Just wanted to get a feel for the vibe here in DC, and what your thoughts are on how the scene is in DC. |

I like DC. I make the trip a couple times a year :) :)
Glow is a decent venue. Ibiza was better IMO, but they dont seem to have many parties there anymore, and everytime I roll past it seems to be more of a hip hop crowd.
But, What do I know, I am only there a couple times a year. ;) |

There have been these parties at Muse on Thursdays and every other Friday (The Electric Cabaret and Clinic respectively) and I've even made the trip from NY to see Paco Osuna, Glimpse and others. I've always had a blast. TBH, I never was a fan of the thursday night party @ ultrabar, too much drama and too weird a crowd. The layout of the place is very awkward too.
I would recommend you to check out Groovanauts, the DC crowd is mostly on that board (albeit biased, most are Panorama patrons, Glow's forum is hosted by groovanauts). I think you would get more out of what the DC scene has to offer by talking to the guys there since it seems like the DC peeps have left here for the most part, I haven't heard a peep from the usual ones in a while.
Check out the locals, there is so much new talent in DC, you'll have your nights busy for a while. |
