thanks for posting that pic cause i got a question for Taj? why is it Robbie was using that DJM 600? i always see a 800 or a xone 92 in the booth.just was kinda wierd its a old ass mixer.
Legendary dance DJ and producer Robbie Rivera has been pumping out club thumpers for the past decade, mixing old and new to generate an unmistakable big room sound. With a prolific back catalog (including remixes of Tiesto, Nelly Furtado, Kaskade and Benny Benassi) along with original smashes like his new release "Let Me Sip My Drink" (featuring Fast Eddie) and "Jersey Shore" club anthem "Vertigo," the Miami mix master shows no signs of slowing down.
"I remember playing ['Vertigo'] in New Jersey like eight years ago at this club D'Jais," Rivera told MTV News. "That was a great party man!" Rivera embraces the hit MTV show not only because it upped his exposure but because it was good for dance music. "When I saw that show, I was like this is awesome. They're wearing shirts that say 'I Love House Music,' and Pauly D plays house music. It's good for all of us!"
Rivera holds true to his genre and is always looking for the betterment and exposure of house music. As the owner of his own record label, Juicy Records, Rivera has helped to guide dance music for years, but is also very aware of how technology has re-shaped the way we ingest and discover music.
"I think the most important thing that's happening in America that has really brought dance music into the mainstream is probably the satellite radio shows," he explained. "They have all those DJs playing their mix shows on Sirius XM. I have a mix show there, but you can listen to dance music all the time. I think that helped a lot because they put dance music all over the place, all over America." He also cites the string of big events and singles. "When you hear Tiesto playing to 30,000 people, when you see David Guetta's success. It's just all over the place, and I guess that the young generation just loves electronic music."
In the past, Rivera has helped launch the careers of newbies like deadmau5, but who does he have his eye on this year? Up-and-coming Italian DJ and producer Riva Starr, who played a highly-anticipated set at River's annual Juicy Beach bash at WMC in Miami and who has been turning heads with his smash single "I Was Drunk."
Check out more of Rivera's music on the Beatport Player below or on his weekly Sirius XM Radio broadcast "The Juicy Show," which airs each Friday from Midnight to 2 a.m. EST on BPM 81.

Yo Herm, I want to be right there with you. i've got the pre-party spot lined up. My SF TA friends are all welcome to start up the evening at the Serrano Hotel located at 405 Taylor street. Depending on how early people like to get started, the hotel offers a wine hour from 5-6pm, there is a happy hour at the on site restaurant Ponzu until 7pm.
Plan is DJ Dan at Ruby friday night and Robbie Rivera saturday night.

Wow, if nobody else is going to report, I will. The vibe in the main room was great. About 2/3's full and relaxed. I think the club had the general lights dimmer because it seemed darker to me which made the other lighting more pronounced. As expected, RR started firing cool progressive tracks from the beginning. It reminded me of Miami and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I got sick about 2:00 and had to go home. Anyone stay for the entire set?

bigherm,vet26, and myself were all there past the end of the set. great night! Do it again at Avalon in 11 days.
Taj hooked up some posters robbie autographed at the end of his set, and robbie took a minute to sign my closer to the sun shirt as well.

hey Omar, belated bday wishes btw. I got real sick Friday afternoon, took off from work and pretty much slept all of sat and sunday. Thanks again for the invite, I still owe you a few drinks ..hahahah
Pretty crazy mashup, song of the night for me. My first time at 1015, I live how there are multiple rooms and a hip hop room so I could get my freak on if I wanted a break from the EDM lol. The main room and hip hop room were the only two packed, a variety of people there, and agreed...it was pretty dark in there. Cant wait to see Robbie at Sutra in OC next Thursday!
