I can't help but post something about this. As I've grown I've started to expand my taste in EDM. But one has really stuck out from the crowd recently and this whole week I've actually been listening to it more than trance, which is a shocker to myself. That genre would be none other than DUBSTEP!
I remember last year I caught the Rusko Essential Mix and quite frankly was blown away. Over the summer all my friend from NYC traveled and did there thing. When we got back to school it seemed that all of us expanded our libraries of dubstep. Mine is now completely filled up with Nero. And I can't help but use the name "trancey dubstep" because honestly I get a similar feeling listening to the melodic introductions of dubstep as I do from trance music. Nero especially because of their vocalist Alana and laid back synths they use. But instead of hittin' the floor and pumping my fist and stomping my feet it's more of a head bobbing feeling. And guess what else? It's actually 140 BPM...only thing it's it a two step beat instead of all four beats being filled. Like a "One, two, clap". Haha.
Anyway, check these guys out. I heard that they're playing in NYC next week on the 18th, but I'm going to be back in D.C.:( They're also playing at the WMC, so all you TAs have plenty of time to check em out. And I think where they're playing is pretty damn close to Love (for the city gig that is).
Show some love, I'm beginning to be a huge fan of these two.

I liked this song, but it got a little repetitive. But it's 1000x better than the other dubstep posted in the music discussion forum.

The dubstep/drum & bass scene is pretty decent up here in mass/ct.
Check this set out from someone I know.
I have been listening to a lot of liquid d & b for the past few months. I find it so relaxing even tho the bpms are really fast. As for liquid d&b, this is one of my favorite tracks at the moment

I guess it'll get popular but it'll eventually die down and will only remain present in certain crowds. It's a "trendy" genre in a way such as drum and bass, electro, minimal.
