Pioneer HDJ2000 vs. Sennheiser HD25-1 II

I am trying to decide between Pioneer HDJ2000 and Sennheiser HD25 and seriously not sure which one to go for.
Previously I had the HDJ1000 but didn't really like it that much plus the hinges have big cracks on them making the cups pop out from time to time :mad:
I know the HDJ2000 now has metal hinges and you can unplug the wire now but very pricey compared to the HD25s which I've heard have the best sound quality out there and the parts are very easily replaced.
Has anyone used both ? Any Ideas ? |

I absolutely love my HD-25's. Ive tried the pioneers, as well as sony's top of the line offering, and still prefer my Sennheisers.
While it ultimately boils down to preference, I like the sennheisers because they are super light, and they are very good at giving a closed ear feel.

| no difference really except that the coiled wire is shorter and is for people who dont like the straight long wire that gets tangled more often. |

You need to let your ears decide.
Personally I have had the 1000's for 5 years now. The only drawback on them is the cracking of the hinges. This has been corrected as you stated in the current 2000 model. Over the past 5 years I have been able to try virtually every other brand as well. I would have to say only the SH come close. In fact I would say its a toss up depending on what your ear is accostomed to. Both reproduce fantastic clarity in all frequency ranges. I would say personally though i prefer a slightly bulkier headset when behind the decks. However if this is just standard everyday use, you may find a preferance towards the 25s. |

I have thoroughly enjoyed my hd25's for djing over the last 3 or 4 years. Longest lasting headphones I have ever owned--I've owned botth the sony 800s and the pioneer 1000s. They don't look that durable but they are, they've been tossed in and out of my record bag for years without having to worry about them.
However, for the price, you can't beat the Sony MDR7506. I haven't used them in a DJing situation, so I don't know how they would hold up long term, but sound quality wise they trump the hd-25's and the 1000's (haven't treid the 2000s) and are probably about $200 less.
