heavy bass heavy awesome

zero usefulness for day to day though |
I have these for DJing but they look ridiculous as ipod headphones
Everyone that wears headphones of this size out on the street looks like a total knob. |

These are the headphones I use to DJ with and I love them. Taking them on and off my ears 1000s of times, though, has caused cracks to form on both sides near the hinges; I'll probably need a new pair by the end of 2010. |

I use a pair of AKG in-ear monitor buds both for just listening to music and when playing out. It has amazing sound quality for a decent price
3 people I know bought the same pair after listening to the difference in quality. |

OMG Bang and Olufsen insta jizz...
On the go: JVC HA-FX66 in ears....very good.
At home: Sony MDR-7506....just bought them a week ago and no complaints so far but I dont have anything to compare them to. |

i had 2 pairs of px 100 so when the first one broke (wire too)
i bought another pair and just ducktaped it in those spots when it tends to go loose 3 years still going strong now
i've also had pair of hd 25s and those things can take some serious abuse, a bit pricy for just listening though |

Senneheiser HD280
A bit cumbersome at times, I'm considering getting the HD25s. |

If you're looking for ear buds with excellent sound, the Shure E3C. I use them at the gym mostly. You can find them online for about $150.
Try them side by side against the Bose and you will have no question. |

Epoxy the cracks. My pioneers cracked at the shoulder. It doesn't look very pretty, but after slapping some epoxy on them you could run them over with a car...the headphones would be destroyed but the should still in tact. |

Are you talking about DJ/Studio headphones or personal (subway, streetcar, everyday) headphones?
DJ - I've used Stantons, Pioneers, Sony's and the AKG's and by far the best were the AKG181
Still have them after 3 years of regular use and I'm pretty hard on them. Only thing I've had to replace is the cord which is detachable anyways.
Personal - I started with some basic JVC's from The Source for $12 then won a pair of the mentioned BOSE ear buds earlier in the thread and I'll be honest; sound quality, not a lot of difference. I know everyone preaches about BOSE and noise cancellation etc. but there wasn't a big difference with between the JVC's and these. Also I lost of one of the rubber ear-bud ends and they're now garbage. Went back to the JVC's and havent' looked back. Sometimes its not about the name brands ya know? Also I'm talking only ear-buds. For those of you who aren't using them and are still using the horrible ipod (white) headphones change'm up, others don't care what you're listening to while you're killing your hearing.
My $.02 |
