Passeport on friday nights?

It's a small little club on St-Denis close to Ontario, and on friday nights its Exotek night, trance, techno, house and progressive local DJs. I checked out some pics, looks like a nice little cozy place. Anyone been? If so, how's the sound system? How's the music on fridays?

It appeals to me cuz it's club hours, and cover's only 5 bucks.. drink prices are affordable too. If the local DJs can put out a good set with quality tracks and mixing, I'm definitely gonna be going there more often.

I know X-Cube is spinning there tonight, might pass by and check it out.

Ive been a few times, cool place with a very wierd layout, and a decent sound system. Overall usually good djs playing there. I prefer pearl which is right next door, also techno, tech house on fridays, and cheap, but thats just my personal preference.
X-Cube
It's a basement bar, wood bar, wood tables and chairs. It's cozy, not pretentious, intimate! Half of the place is the bar for sit, talk, drink and PR , the other part is the dance floor with dj booth.

For the music, the dj's...MATEO MURPHY is the guy! Me and Le cantin will open for him. The music style will be Tech-house,minimaltech and techno! No commercial sh*t! Like you can hear at Piknic electronic, some nights at Salon daomé, parking on thursday nights, Black Out or Flex at Circus.

You should be good to know more about the night and the dj's! :)

I have the chance to be a resident dj (and promoter) at Passeport as I have my own night there every last Friday of the month.

I really like the fact that the club is not pretentious and the crowd is always rockin' (soundsystem is not spectacular, but still very good).

If you swing by on March 26th, you'll be in for a techno treat! I'll be playing alongside Dj Hd and expect to hear some groovy tech-house and banging tech...I usually play the kind of techno you're more likely to hear in an afterhours club...dark and driving!

And make sure to check out X-Cube tonight too!

Cool man.. I won't be making it tonight but the 26th sounds good.. also hearing the crowd is not pretentious is great, it's the reason that keeps me out of all the clubs in Mtl, everyone thinks they're a baller in this city. Does it get full on fridays or is it a sparse crowd? Either way doesn't bother me.. I like taking little breaks to grab a seat and just listen.

Do any resident DJs spin progressive house regularly? I'm aching for some prog on a big sound system.

The last 3 months, I booked one of my friends (Dj CF) to open up the night with some very cool prog...he usually plays from 10 to midnight...he'll be playing on the 26th too...come check it out!

Cool the 26th it is then. Gonna check out Pearl too, but I heard Pearl is a lot more expensive/classy.
