I've been stuck with this song for some months now. Remaking it several times changing some stuff here and there but I can't seem to get any further with it. I only have the melody part of the song and the drums aren't that "interesting" yet. (drums are the last thing I make cause I generally hate making drums)
Here's the song: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/244444/lala.mp3
I was also going to have some singing speech synthesizer using Vocaloid, but only if it'd sound good. I did sample some voices from it but I really don't know about this idea. I've been playing with some weird ideas on this song a lot.
This is off topic, but does anyone feel that you become less and less creative for each song you make? I was very active before but I'm slowly getting less creative for every song I make. Though the sound is getting better the melodies and things I come up with aren't as great or frequent as before.
I'm using Record with Reason 4. |

| Can't see whats wrong here, sounds great to me. And no, I don't really experience the lose of creativity, don't know why it happens to some people tho |

| The problem is that I'm stuck and I can't come up with something to introduce the melody with. |

yeah it's been brought up on here on a number of occasions as well, and i personally know exactly how you feel, i think it's an increasing focus on the technical, rather than the creative, or FUN side of the music which, at least for me, saw me becoming far less 'original', and inspired... fairly ironic of course that when you get to a point you can make what you want, you have less material to do so :p
the song itself sounds fine, but imo, if you hit a wall, move on to another project. you can come back to it later if you come up with something, or you can just abandon it, but all you're doing staring at the same project for weeks on end is wasting time and setting yourself up for depression :p
i usually have at least 5-10 projects going at once at various levels of completion, and i just flick between them depending on mood etc... either mood for different styles, or mood for doing stupid pointless work, like eqing, or mood for being creative and creating leads, or designing patches...
works for me anyway, maybe not everyone.. |

| personally i think you want some feed on the tune, it sounds good a 8 min version would sound good too if you made the arrangement buildups breakdowns interesting. nice |

| Did you side chain all your melodic parts to your kick etc as the level of all supporting parts drops when the kick comes in. It sounds ok as a melody though, try using the last bar of your melody immediately preceeding the first bar where you melody starts. Works for Akesson, and me :) |
