Does anyone have on/off days with beatmatching/spinning?
Also, when playing live with the zone or DJM do you use split cue ? (Separate channels in both ears in order to beatmatch) |

Everyone has off days. Whoever says they don't are lying.
I rarely use Split Cue. |

| i rarely have off days now that i do stereo mixing with the xone. I think its the proper way to beatchmatch. I use to have both channels 1 +2 in cue to mix but that didn't work out well, a lot of off days. |

I never use PFL, straight up cue and monitors - what happens if you're playing out somewhere and the venue's mixer doesn't have PFL?
THEN WHAT?
After 25 years of this, I might have off moments, but rarely off days. |

At home I mix stereo through headphones. Just to keep the neighbors from bitching. Preview and program together, then program only during transitions. For my mobile gigs. I use one monitor for cue only connected to the booth out, and the other monitor connected to the main out. But it depends on the gig.
As for bad days, it happens. The worst times for me, is when I start thinking about my other work and I lose focus. |
