Hey I live a mile west of there and walked home no problem. It's a wacky neighborhood, but if you know where the heck you're going and know how to handle yourself in a city it's no problemo.

Phyrestorm I've never heard of the Saxony. I imagine Green Mill was either not open or already charging a cover at that point? That would have been the obvious hangout otherwise...

4 Strings - Diving (Original Mix)

There is also a 4 Strings - Diving (Original Vocal Mix), which is probably what you are referring to, and why you didn't notice it.

You can tell how hot it got by looking at how my hair progressed throughout the pictures (in chronological order).

We saw the Green Mile... don't ask me why we didn't go in. Oh... I remember why now. We saw the Saxony from in front of the Riviera, and crossed the street. THEN, we saw the Green Mill, which was across the street in the other direction, and for some reason, we just kept walking to Saxony. Shady place.... liquor store w/ a plastic window as part of the bar... *shivers*

omg... i think i was right behind you guys in that pic. I remember the MC Hammer dude, and I think I might have talked to Pvdfan... don't really know. It was dark on the dancefloor, but talked to someone who looked very much like him, if it wasn't him.

oh, and for the record, RubyRiva is very cute

*listens to Marco V - I Feel You (PvD Remix) and remembers last night*

SATURDAY JULY 27..PVD AT THE RIVIERA!

...ok the last hour of his set, i was completely dehydrated from heat stroke/exhaustion so i was unable to remember anything

I ing 2nd this comment. I was so freaking dehydrated (even after drinking at least 2 liters of water before coming and drinking more as I was in there.) and suffering from some sweaty ass heat stroke or what felt more like something closer to death. Maybe I thought I danced to much, but even at the Triple Crown @ AllState arena I danced for at least 4 hours and NEVER felt the way I felt yesterday. I literally had to drag myself out of the main room and sit outside. For some of you walking around (and at the risk of severly embarrising myself), I was the blk guy with the orange shirt passed on on the floor!!! :D

Riviera was a good venue, there were lots of space to dance, and the setup was good, b/c everyone saw the dj. the only problem was that there was NO VENTILATION!

I did manage to see PVD, which was a first for me and I liked the location/setup of the Riviera. I would have been heavne if there was some ing AIR!!!@!#!@ :whip: :whip:

But overall it was a great show (with the progressive/warm up DJs before Paul). I was pissed though since I was virtually passed out when I heard For an Angel and couldnt get my groove on. Oh well at least I got to hear it. At last I heard PVD and he IS worth the hype and prestige he gets in the media, the online world, and amongst international DJs. Oh and one more thing...now I know what some TAers mean when they like the "kick" in PVD's music.

Enough negativity! I had a great time! My muscles were like spaghetti afterwards and even today during my softball game. But that's a good feeling, and I will get a lot of sleep tonight :)

Sorry I didn't get to meet more of you. I was the guy in the handicapped area standing next to my buddy who came in on crutches. I didn't want to ditch him to go find people so...

When i finally got home after a drive back to a friends place on the south side I crashed like a heroin addict coming down of a brutal high. I slept hard and deep...although Iwent to sleep humming For An Angel.

No wonder I couldnt find you man...I was looking for ya! Oh well maybe another time another event. :conf:

Who were the warmup DJ's? I don't remember because I was drinking vodka in a water bottle on the L.
Retrokat
First things first...Maybe it was because I was so ing hot that my brain was starting to boil in my head...but I don't remember hearing 4 Strings - Diving. As a matter of fact...I requested the song on the Text Message jobber.

Second, in that picture, I'd like to comment on the fact that it looks like we all just got out of a pool...just to give you an idea of how hot it was.

Third, the warmup DJs were:
1. The Charles Barkley lookinng guy (didn't catch his name)
2. Donnie Stash
3. Johnny Chaos <----ROCKED!!!
4. Some house DJ that was on for a sec. before PvD Came up

Finally, and most important, Devantes, I'm totally in love with that chick in the white top that took our picture! She's smoking!

Hey, chicago land TAs...when and where is the next party?

John Curley was the only one whose name I knew, and he was right before Paul. The guy before him I only saw for like 5 minutes.

I didn't catch the first guy but I heard he actually played trance. This was from an uninformed source though so I dunno.

"House" DJ (more like prog) was John Curley. IMO the three warmup DJs right before PvD blew. But I hate progressive. Johnny Chaos claimed once to me that he played hard trance. Maybe my tastes are skewed from hearing Scot Project and Warmduscher, but that sounded like boring prog to me!

God only knows! If you're 21 Rive is fun on Saturdays, Seneca plays some good stuff. But as far as a full-blown trancefest... Hrmph. I go to some of these cheesy anotherlevel type things sometimes...
