hi
i'm looking to buy some cdjs as ive been wanting to have a go for ages but im pretty skint. i reckon i can afford about £500 for decks, mixer and headphones so was looking at the gemini cdj 203s. i know they're obviously not as good as pioneers but they're quite alot cheaper than cdj100s and i just want to use them for playing around, not sure i'll be any good at it anyway.
the only real drawback i can see is that they don't have a bpm counter but i figure it'll be better to learn without relying on that anyway as most djs obviously learnt on vinyl without any of these assists and are better people for it. no scratching either but i don't know anyone who scratches. i'll mainly be playing trance and hard house.
has anyone used these at all and found the quality or feel of them really bad? can't seem to find decent reviews of decks anywhere. the other cdjs in the price range look like little walkmen.. just want to make sure these aren't all looks.

lol man...
im pretty sure the only drawback with gemini gear IS
their ty ass build quality that doesnt last for jack. bpm counter....... anyways, if you want to long lasting gear i suggest stay away from cheap products, just my 2 cents. |

| I've worked on Gemini gear before, and although it'll work in a pinch, I mean if that's what they provide fine, but I personally wouldn't spend my money on it. Check out eBay. Like Simon pointed out, there are a ton of Denon 1000's for sale, take a look at those. If not, you can find other stuff like Pioneer for cheap. BTW, don't worry about the bpm counter. You don't need it. I don't know any DJ who uses that thing. It does give a pretty cool light show though. :D |

sherlock is general term for a person who would need to wait for a "just kidding" response from a gemini is better than pioneer/denon response.
its all the rage now calling people sherlock. if you don't know now you know. |
