So I listened to Artificial Intelligence II on Warp which came out in the 90's - and this track is fantastic imho:

What a gem!

I always regret not picking any of those up when I saw them in stores way back when. Mind, they were a costly $30, and I was just a broke-ass teenager, but still...

Ah, good old Beaumont Hannant. Sadly forgotten these days (partially due to his own fault), but he was, together with Autechre, the most important factor for transformation of ambient, ambient techno and electro to what is now known and considered IDM.

Texturology was definitely his finest moment, with this track being the absolute highlight:

He and Autechre, beside having a similar sound back in the day, also collaborated once. BH remixed their Basscadet, and they returned a favour big time a year later:

As for Artificial Intelligence series, it sure is a classic in many different ways. Apart from completely new concept, advances in technology it offered, otherworldly music and a few other things, it put Warp on the map as a most interesting and different record label around, and was a huge influence for a creation of "IDM" acronym.

First one, released in 1992, was actually more important of the two, but the second one featured better music, with Arcadian by Link, Symmetry by Speedy J and Spangle by Seefeel being personal favourites.
