browsing the interweb here not really finding my answer. I just got a new argosy studio desk (all hail!) and with my old desk i had the virus within 3ft. I had a 6 ft USB cabel running to it. With the new desk i was hoping to put the keyboards a good 10-12ft(in wire distance) from the computer, has anyone had any issues running a much longer USB cable on their virus? i was hoping to not have to reconfigure my set up but i will if it causes issues. |

I had a longer USB run in my previous setup and was able to deduce that all of my Virus TI problems were DIRECTLY related to that. I'd say proceed with caution. |

I had a 10 Ft Cable...had problems with it. Not sure if it was purely due to the USB cable though. |

I would definitely use a USB cable that has an EMI choke rather than one without. They're supposed to prevent "interference" in the USB bus, so it may actually help the TI on a long cable run. http://www.monoprice.com sells cables for CHEAP!
Here's a picture of a USB cable with an EMI choke. Obviously, you'd want a longer one.

Don't we all.... :wtf:
I don't see why there would be an issue since Access included quite a lengthy USB cable without any sort of do-dad at the end of either side. Although I do not know the specifics of digital cables... |

^^ The supplied cable was actually quite problematic for me. Kept finding myself having to reset the Virus TI about once a week until I got a new USB cable. Since about 7-8 months after I bought it, I've been using a different cable. |

dude i can't believe i forgot about that. i too had to replace the USB cable that came with my virus. i know i read something about problems with longer length USB cables but i can't find it anymore(this was years ago). i'm just going to stick with what i have and configure my room around it |

Hrmm... well, I must confess taht for the majority of the time I had my TI, i used a cheap shorter length cable of about 1 meter. But I do not recall having any non-software related issues when using the supplied cable. I had the same issues with the longer one, too. |
