Ok deleted the other thread was too silly.
Basically this is a remix I am working on for the record label. I have tried my level best gave it everything I have and would like to know if the production is ok.
Nb - How low must my confidence be in my tracks to have put ozone on it to show you guys? Im embarrassed :(
This one has no mastering plug ins on it nothing at all on the master bus.
Again sorry for volume drops I am not allowed to post full versions :)

That phasing problem is gone. What is the track RMS? It sounds loud enough here. |

I tried to leave the label -3.0db for their mastering af few peaks snook up to about -1.0 I think.
The phasing was the stereo imager in ozone like I said this is just fresh out of cubase unprocessed. |

Mix does sound a BIT too muddy, look into your pad too sounds like its hitting the wrong note |

just listening now, these are just my opinions.
i think the snare needs to be a little louder
the kick in the breakdown could do with a longer reverb tail
i think the build up to the droop needs to be more intense
feels like theres a lack of energy, but i reckon the energy will appear when it gets mastered.
the sounds are great and fit well together and i like the melody and chord and bass progression. great work overall :) |

It doesn't have much of a groove. It needs one of those famous Vengeance loops. |

Here's my 2c.
Your balance in the mix is quite a bit out IMO. The kick needs to be louder and punchier, sounds like your using too much compression. The kick needs to be more full bodied in this style of music I think.
That sweeping arp needs to go, its too distorted and taking up too much space in the mix. Its fine for the intro, but you need to filter it down or round it off for the body of the track.
Breakdown needs a better transition I think, and the lead is a bit loud. I'd try and getting a bass sound to punch in a bit harder and get the lead a bit more rounded and a touch quieter.
The two leads (pluck and vibrato ones) need to be more differentiated, try panning and also filter one and leave the other more unfiltered. This is an overall problem with the mix, you have too many elements competing for the same space with similar timbres. Its a bit too busy in many parts.
Again, the sweeping sound 4 42 is just too obnoxious. But the roll back into the final segment is nice and that drum fill is great.
Its a good track. but needs a bit more work to be releasable imo. |

some things i think would improve the track:
add stereo width to your pad either doing it in the synth or rendering it out mono two times with +8,-8 fine tune and pan each hard left/right, also add lots of reverb, cutoff could be lowered when other synths are playing, you could add a bass note on the pads during the break.
add delay to your pluck, i think this would definitely sound better when the delay/pads are playing solo during the break.
replace "boom" sample with something that lasts longer (vengeance impact FX). |

It could use much more stereo field usage. Everything sounds too centered, that's why it seems muddy.
I've noticed that at the end 5:05 the stereo mix seems fine, but the first time when the lead is introduced, you don't have it stacked with some more stereo field stuff and it sounds too centered (1:23)
The acid style midbass could use some filter automation and could be turned down at least 0.5 dB.
However, I don't agree with other people saying that the kick or snare should be louder, it seems fine to me. |
