Yes. This is completely unrelated, but I just couldn't let this pass uncommented :p

I didn't recognize who this was. I had to look at the name in your link. I can't believe "foreigners" would know who it is? :conf:

as far as happiness is concerned, it's good for your health. no one wants to be depressed.

I think it's all about having a good attitude, really...which doesn't necessarily mean "happiness" as it's most commonly recognized.

this :)

I mean, if we look his name up, we know he was an American president :p

Besides, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington look very much alike in those portraits. I had to double check five or six times in order to make sure I wasn't putting the same picture twice :D

Actually, like I said earlier, I found constant happiness rather annoying. I'm not sure if I'm used to being miserable, but it beats the hell out of being happy for too long :p

i disagree. i have spells of depression occasionally and it is awful. whenever i am happy i wish it could be like that all the time. that being said, i can't think of a time when i was consistently happy for more than a month. i guess it's different for everybody.

I don't find constant happiness annoying as long as it's tempered with a good dose of go yourself.

There is a world of difference between just feeling kinda down and blah and being actually depressed. Actual depression does not feel like it is balancing out anything whatsoever, it is an absolutely abysmal feeling and you should consider yourself quite lucky that you do not know the difference.

I like how you phrased that.

Well, by depression I mean the overwhelming feeling to just sit around and ask yourself why you haven't jumped out the window yet... could it mean anything else at all? :conf:

I think you just get used to it. I havent been properly happy for a prolonged period of time (lets say a week) since...well since i was 14 or something like that. I do generally have a positive outlook on life, but that has nothing do do with being happy.

If there is any objective or meaning to life it is certainly not happiness.

To me the goal in life is the experience you gain while making the journey .
