Go to the one before it.. or reboot with your windows CD... then use restore option in the recovery consol or during the boot option.

Boot back up in safe mode (disconnected form the internet and try again)

if all else fails just reinstall windows.. no need to delete everything but you may need to reinstall your programs. unless you save your registry.

turn off active x and only install software you know doesn't have malware.

Example install crap on your "junk computure" then if it doesn't mess things up reinstall on your good computer.. just keep on formating your junk computer.

Also if you use a computer for something... keep it offline.

Have a secure computer specifically for browsing the web. There are cheap computers and laptops for like 100 or 200$ out there. It will save you a lot of trouble not to have your "gaming or application use" computer connected to the interent.

all you gotta do is reboot

That sucks man, first I would go here and run a diagnostic test.

saying that it reminds me that i need to update all my systems with that av too
