Description

April 10, 2010 Toronto will welcome a new events organization to it's city. Zero Percent presents: Volume 1. This event will feature some of Toronto's finest House, Tech-House and Minimal Tech DJ's/Producers. Our lineup for the evening is as follows:

Kenny Glasgow // No.19 Music, Art Department

For almost 20 years, Kenny Glasgow has been involved with Toronto’s underground dance scene. As early as 1992, Kenny Glasgow was pushing the boundaries of modern electronic music through active promotion and turntable manipulation. As one third of JMK (together with Jeremy and Mike), Glasgow promoted and hosted warehouse jams under the banner Family Tree. For two years the trio threw their renegade raves, inviting esteemed DJs such as Roger Sanchez, Nick Holder, and DJ Disciple to join in the fun.

Glasgow's unique skills behind the 1200's earned him a spot at Toronto's Industry. There he would mix a finely tuned blend of future house and funky techno alongside the likes of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, and Danny Tenaglia. Since the club closed its doors in 2000 (in a sense, it was a victim of its own success), Glasgow has broadened his scope and is now playing regular gigs across North America.

This past summer in May, Kenny released his first full length EP entitled “Taste for the Low Life” which contains elements of disco and electro and sold a number of copies worldwide. Up next are future releases on the label No.19 Records as well as some new material under the guise Art Department with partner in crime Johnny White.
Do not miss this exclusive engagement as Kenny will be sure to rock!

JAMIE KIDD // Metalogic, Platform, Box of Kittens

Toronto based Jamie Kidd is a jazz and funk bassist turned electronic producer and dj. As one half of Metalogic, releases for New York's Hidden Agenda, London's Perc Trax, and Berlin's Nachtstrom Schallplatten have been played worldwide by major artists including Sasha, Cari Lekebusch, Len Faki, Phil Kieran, Timo Maas, Terence Fixmer, Nick Warren, Satoshi Tomeii, Joseph Capriati, John Selway, Xpansul, Frankie Bones and many others. Upcoming releases include remixes for Perc, Tony Rohr, and Dietrich Schoenemann.

A fetish for bass heavy pulsating sub textures, dubbed-out effects, and long teasing blends, Kidd hijacks your mind on an impulsive journey in and out of deep unauthorized darkness, and manic but pleasurable innocence.

Along with some of Toronto's finest:

Pauze - Tech-House - Zero-Percent, Hardsignal Recordings, Fine Audio Recordings, Hydraulix Records - www.djpauze.com

We are full on ready to go for Saturday! All dj's confirmed, sound and lights ready! This is going to be one of the best old school jams Toronto has seen in a long long while. When's the last time you saw Kenny Glasgow throw down? I'm so excited as the feedback has been overwhelming. Hope to see everyone at this jam!

Couldn't be any more original with the name, eh? I've been organizing
events in Montreal under 13 PERCENT for the past two years.. Nice one!
DJPAUZE
No sorry brother. Finding a name for us consisted of Googlin'g Zero Percent as well as a slew of web addresses. There is a meaning behind the name as well but the owners would have to tell you that story.

Hope your company is doing well!
