This will be the second time I've written this, the first time I tried to post, my computer crashed!!! :whip: :whip: :whip:
Wednesday
Arrived in at Lubeck at 19:55, made my way to Hamburg, where I was suppposed to meet Evil_bastard. But we completely missed each other! So I managed to call him on my cellphone, where he was already with DJ Dawn. Made my way to Ahrensburg on the U Bahn, because the storm had washed away the railtrack of the S Bahn!!
WE chilled at DAwn's for a little while, and then we made our way to Club Voila. It was excellent. You would never get clubbing like that in the UK on a Wednesday night! :D
Went back to Dawn's at 03:00. We had breakfast and met Denise ;) I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dawn and Denise for their Awesome Hospitality. THANX DAWN!!
We made our way back to Hamburg to catch the coach to Berlin (15:00 Bus) but it was full so we waited for the 17:00 bus. We got to Berlin at about 21:00. We had to get to the BCC Campingplatz, but as we were looking for a bank, we missed the last X34 bus! We had to get a Taxi, and we still managed to get to the campingplatz, even tho the Taxi driver didn't speak a word of English!! So we gave him a large tip. :D
Now we had to put up a tent. In Pitch black. With no torch! Fortunately, some nice German people helped us out. If you are reading this (Christian, Olaf and Friend), thanx for your help!
The next morning we got ready for the parties. As we were waiting for the bus to the Bahnhof Zoo, everyone gave me lots of amazing looks from my hairstyle! :D:D:D (I'll say hi to every hot girl that waved at me!)
We got to the Kurfurstendamm at 18:30, and it was there we met JP and his friends. We waited for a little longer and met some other TA's

After hanging around for a bit to wait for more TA's, we left to go to Cafe Schoneberg to see PvD play. We met up with some more Ta's

I managed to get real close to PVD and managed to get some good close shots of him!
When Westbam started his set, we left to get food at a Spanish resturant. It was here that I officialy found out that the Dutch are sex mad! ;)
JP was not planning to go to LFA, so he gave us some directions to the Columbiahalle. It was outside when this guy comes up to me and says "MDMA?"
I thought "Does he want drugs?"
Then I thought "No one would ask for MDMA!"
And then I thought "Hang on, a TA!"
so i said "YES!"
And we had met TranceGiant! :D (Thank god for my MAD hair!)
We went in to watch Ashley Caselle, and it was pretty downtempo and boring, but when PVD went on, it got the crowd going! When he finished and it was Pete Tong's set, we went outside and I think, NetX came up to me and said "MDMA?"
He then showed us TranceRulez and his friend. WE chilled outside until NU NRG started to play. It was a nice live performance. We found Drizzt81, DJ Helen K and Pat MCGroin inside, right by the DJ Booth. I didn't know that I was noticed by PvD because of my hair. Thats so cool!
When PvD started his final set, the crowd went wild, and everyone was happy.
I had my picture taken by the reporters/cameramen inside the halle, they had "beatreport" or something on theior T-shirts? Hopefully I'll have my picture on a large website or magazine! :D
We danced till 09:00, and Helen kindly offered to take us back to her apartment to freshen up. After a nice bit of chilling, we started our journey to Love Parade 2002.
Everyone we knew was on a truck! WE took Helen to the Blank and Jones truck and made our way to the centre of the Tiergarten after we'd had some food at McDonalds. We chilled until the truck's came by. We followed the TA trucks when they got close. We saw JP, his friends and DAwn on the Northevents truck, and we saw Helen on the B&J float when that got close, but we couldn't see Josta on the Ameland truck :(
AFter they went past, we danced to every other truck as well. When the Main stage performers started playing, we got real excited, but the first few performers were pretty rubbish! By the time Dr Motte played, everyone was in a good mood, and they were in a better mood after he had finished his set.
WE stayed right to the end of the Love Parade. The Ameland truck got lots of attention at the end when the music had stopped and the MC was getting everyone happy again! But we still couldn't see Josta! :(
WE made our way to Lovestern, where we met JP and his friends again. We were quite tired as we had been up for nearly 60hrs at this point! We chilled for a little bit, partied for alittle bit, and Alex and I made the journey home. As soon as we got to the campingplatz, I had to get ready to leave. From 09:00, I was travelling constantly until I got home to Twickenham in London.
I was happy. So happy, I cried a little bit. I was home. After doing the whole Love Parade. WOW. I've never experienced anything like that ever. I was happy to be a part of it. THANK YOU GERMANY!

you did make one of "fundorado" which is actually Northevents / Cosmic Gate. But it's looking so strange I can't even figure out which side/front/back of the truck it is?!;)

it was definately a lifechanging experience for me...having waited over 5yrs to experience the loveparade....wow.....i still cant believe i was actually there, let alone on a truck [blank and jones] ......:rolleyes:
to all of u TA's whom i met....thank u so much!!!!!
ill always remember those fun times we had together...

I'm finally home, and I'm missing Global Gathering right now :(
I was stuck in Germany with all money. My debit card suddenly decided to stop working on Monday and the arseholes at the bank at Ostbahnhof and Zoologischer Garten were no help. I was stranded without cash and I didn't know a word of German.
I left the campsite on the Tuesday cos all the interesting people left, so I went to a hostel in Ostkreuz instead. I hardly ate for three days all I had was what was left in my wallet. I didn't have enough to get my trip to Lubeck airport, I couldn't even afford accomodation (the hostel gave me a night for free out of sympathy). I missed my flights to England, what a bitch!
I finally got some money out of the machine, but only 70 euros, enough to get me an 18 hour long coach from Berlin to London. We changed via Brussels. The coach arriving in Brussels was late too, and our coach was held up for about an hour at the eurotunnel while they extensively searched it :conf:
Then I had a 7 hour coach journey to Newcastle, arriving at Galowgate coach station at midnight, having to heave all my luggage through the streets of Newcastle on a Friday night. Messy!
I have some pictures of the Love Parade which I need to get developed. I still have blisters from the Love Parade + partying at Tresor with people from the hostel and I'm pretty ed from all that coaching. As soon as I have these pics developed I'll scan them and send them to JP or someone.
I just want to say it was interesting meeting you all, and I'm well up for it again next year. I can't put names to the faces of everyone I met, there were so many people and I'm crap with names, so I'm sorry if I forget you. Some people I only saw for a couple of seconds, but Pat Mcrgroin and Mdma I spent a whole day with having an incredible time. Love from Above was the best night of my life and the whole weekend was my best ever. I must say a huge thanks to Dawn and Denise for their excellent hospitality. You saved us a lot of money and hassle. Thanks! I must also thank Pat for the taxi fare and for all those German translations. Cheers mate! And I have to thank Helen for letting us chill in her hotel room and have a shower. I needed that badly, even Germany's heat is too much for an Englishman! :D
Oh and Lam you were right, Dutch women have awesome accents! I met some Irish girls at the hostel as well, and I have to say that those are still my favourite accents! It was quite tiring trying to talk slowly to everyone and remove all the slang, but then again it was probably even harder for you guys talking in a language that isn't your mother tongue. Still, it all worked out.
I'll have to invest in some new shoes to prevent blisters next year, and I NEED to remember to take sunscreen this time! I totally fried! My skin still really hurts from the sun (although Berlin has had some erratic weather the last two weeks) and I felt really ill at Lovestern Galaktika, the constant heat was giving me migraine. I can't take the heat too well :( I think a nice cold Love Parade would be ideal for me next year. Northern England style ;)
I will post more later, but for now I need to catch up on all these threads/pictures I've missed and also get some sleep!
...
Oh one more thing. That's my cheapy watch from Argos on the right of the picture. I took a photo at the same time as you Lam, he seems to be posing near the direction of me. I can't wait to get my photos developed! I also got a cool photo of that flag of Berlin with "Energie Berlin" and PvD with a big cheesy grin, hopefully that comes out well. (what the hell is 'energie berlin' all about anyway?)
Lastly I must say, how cool was that raver in the wheelchair? He stayed for the entire of LFA. That is hardcore!! |
