OMFG, I know this was out ages ago but i've only just found a site that streams it online. I'm hooked...kinda feels like a Modern Day Band of Brothers.

Are there any other war based series that are as good as or come close to this??

Is "Over There" any good?

I watched Generation Kill. It was pretty ed up, the mental and emotional conflicts that soldiers have to deal with every day. Turns them into absolutely different people. A nice, happy student, with a lot of friends in high school goes into the military, gets transferred to a foreign base, and becomes a battle hardened, paranoid killing machine. The way that they were talking about their views on America and how we are all clueless s made me really wonder about the way that the military trains their soldiers.

but if they train them any other way, will they be as capable to kill?

Technically, they should never have to kill.

But I understand what you are saying. We wouldn't be the worlds biggest superpower if our soldiers weren't the best of the best. Think about how many soldiers come back home with Personality Disorders, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. Their entire lives are completely changed, everything they ever knew is now different. Their family, their friends, their children, nothing makes any sense anymore. It seems so horrible when you see all sorts of soldiers coming back and being unable to handle everyday life.

What way are you supposed to train people that makes them come back from war like nice happy campers?
