Reminds me of a documentary I watched about how all of our media, especially music videos, is hyper-sexualized.

It was called Dreamworlds I think. It had some interesting arguments.

EDIT:

Here is a bit of it:

Nah, it's universal :p

By the way, if you think Buddhism is somehow free of conservative values and fundamentalism just because it's Buddhism, check out some of the stuff the Dalai Lama said:

Dam you Lira the Dolly Llama was the last religious figure I though was ok. Now you had to go and ruin that! :whip:

I can't stand any religion for this reason. While religious teaching has wisdom and ideas of enlightenment that we all could benefit from it's ludicrous when they produce a laundry list of arbitrary rules that have been handed down by God. Even rules inside of one religion often contradict each other for example new vs old testament. Maybe eternity wasn't enough time for God to make the rules he had to do a rough draft first then revise them in the new testament and then in subsequent re-releases of the bible.

While no one can prove/disprove God's existence it's pretty safe to assume he wouldn't come up with different rules for every religion and its multitude of denominations. I'm pretty sure God doesn't care if a married couple has sex during the day.

I used to study Buddhism, 'member? There's a very good reason why I've never considered myself a Buddhist :p
