would it be a bad idea to message julie and ask if she knows anything of his whereabouts or how we could reach him? I don't know the circumstances of their breakup and i don't know if she will care but if you all really want to find him it's the best i can think of?

it seems like a first avenue man. A quick fix to try to get over someone is to start dating on a website. You have to think logically.. someone wouldnt just post a note like that, jay has never brought himself down to that level and it is unlike him to do so.
Simply joining a dating website is not evidence enough to show that he's mentally ok.

Some of us are friends with jason outside of TA, even if i haven't met him in real life, i've had some pretty decent conversations with him over the past 3 or so years.. so it's really hard to say if this is for s and giggles or if it is serious. it does sound really bizzare and that is why i would be concerned for his well being. It's obvious jay is not playing with a full deck of cards and if he is really as ed up as he sounds it wouldn't surprise me that he joined a dating site, for all we know he could have also signed up for free newsletters on hemorrhoid remedies. Either way, I'll message julie and see if i get a response.

As I said, I think it's a cry for help either way, whether someone is going to commit suicide or they are attention whoring to the point where they pretend to commit suicide.

If you're going to bet all your money on black thats alright. people try whatever they can to get over someone. Hookers dating strippers. IF you know you cant be with that person you have to try and null the pain by whatever means. If it doesnt work you're still in square one. suicidal.
I'm taking that note seriously because its totally out of his character. Sure he's been a prick to us all but we've been pretty nasty to him too dont forget it. How many of us have commented on him having an STD or that he is a lowlife etc.
His attitude was simply a guise to cover some deep pain. This is what i see and forgive me if i am concerned enough to take a suicide note seriously. If he trolled us, somoene should take a bat to his legs.
