Right, so using an electoral map of the elections of 2000/04/08 and a reference listing the number of House seats in each state, I'm doing this assignment (not due until Thurs.) for F. Government. So, after trying to make sense of three questions.
(I think they're trick questions, but still.)
So, pretty please, guide me in the right direction. I have a feeling that the answers are obvious, and I'm just overanalyzing the questions.
So!
1) What is the sum total of the plus or minus boxes on the map?
(For this question, it specifies no year, so perhaps this is a general question that applies to every election? What are "plus or minus boxes" anyway?)
2) How many House seats did Illinois lose between 2002 and 2003?
(Now, how does a state lose a seat in the HoR in the span of one year? I thought these seats changed every decade and according to the census)
3) New York and Pennsylvania lost a combined total of how many House seats between 2002 and 2003?
(Same confusion as #2)
