Stafford Lake is sure nice. But given this economy, maybe they could consider a venue change. Bridge toll, gas, parking fee, small things add up to be a lot.

They still have a huge turnout every time - no matter what the economy is lookin like... and sunset parties change venues all the time :) (treasure island, etc) |

Not really, if you carpool. It's all BYOB, etc. Much more affordable and nicer than a club environment. |

| stafford lake park is the perfect venue for this. no other location closer to sf could hold the 3000-3500 people (and all the cars they park) free of charge without having any issues whatsoever. the park rangers love the fact that sunset is at stafford lake because they pretty much make the majority of their annual revenue that day from the parking fees. as a result they don't hassle people about anything as long as you're respectful of the park. if you fill up your car with 3 friends, it shouldn't cost you a thing to get there. you drive, shotgun has gas, other guy gets toll, other guy gets parking fee, split a 30 pack, everyone wins. as epic as the treasure island party was last year, the weather was nowhere near as nice as novato. even with the sun shining all day, treasure island was windy as hell. stafford lake is like a summer picnic, you don't even think about sleeves until the sun goes down. also, dirtybird bbq last sunday was so epic. the weather, the food, and the music was just perfect. i couldn't care less about going out at night anymore. it's festival season bitches! |
