So I just bit the bullet and watched this, I couldn't even finish - as though the CGI being awful wasn't bad enough, they actually put CGI characters into normal drawing-based animation. And what was with Tasslehoff being so goofy? They should have used that extra $ they used for high-end graphics and made the movie longer so they didn't skip out on important parts like escaping to Tika's house, the missing constellations, and Fizban's fireball in the cage...

Yeah, was pretty fvcking awful. I thought it captured the spirit of the book OK, but was still atrocious in almost every aspect. That’s what you get for low budget I spose. Unfortunately it doesn’t have brand awareness (yeah you sushi!) of LOTR, so no live-action for us :(

Trust that they would just that up anyway.
Need I remind you?

The thing was though, this cartoon was overseen by Margaret and tracey, not a bunch of hollywood moneygrubbers attaching the DnD name to a piece of . And they still couldn’t get it even passable. ******s.

Maybe they should have had the money-hungry hollywood folks take the reigns on this. I don't think there were any major complaints about Peter Jackson when he did LOTR. This was just... awful. Maybe Margaret & Tracy just aren't cut out for film-directing. I really hope there isn't a sequel for this... I can't see it helping our case for a LOTR-type (preferably Jackson-directed) dragonlance movie :(

I watched it a while ago and would put it almost on par with Raptor Island. The only thing worse about Raptor Island was everything.
I knew this movie was going to be childish from being cartoony, but I at least thought it was going to be cool like The Hobbit.

The problem being that DL doesn’t have the clout in order to get that kind of hollywood funding :(
