so last night i switch my computer on.. i get the xp loading screen.. then after that goes off, it blue screen of deaths, and it says there is a registry error... so i try it in safe mode.. but no luck. i try inserting my xppro disc to do a repair install. but it just blue screens again right after i enter the serial.
i have also tried copying over backup registry files in DOS, but it wont let me delete the faulty entries, saying 'access denied' i assume because im not an administrator.. but i dont have an administrator password on my pc.
so i guess im after a registry repair tool that can be used from DOS, that is free. is there such a thing?
ALSO. i went through with my pc about a month ago, when myHDD died. and i dont want to go through reformatting again if i can help it
Cheers

I started typing all this stuff that I thought it might be, but then I remembered that every time my PC s up, I either ask my gf, or the COR :(
can that be used from ms-dos? .. as i cant get into windows to run anything, so i need to be able to run from dos.

ad that didn't work? Damn, I guess you're kid of ed. You could try a totally clean install but then you would have to format the HD which is something I'm sure you want to avoid.
Off topic, I bought Visa - Fly Away (Hixxy Mix) on iTunes and it said was from the album Hardcore 2009 (or something like that) by Nukleuz. I'm guessing that's you, right?

When you reboot, get to the safe mode screen (I think by pressing F8 or F12 during bootup). In addition to the safe mode options, there should be an option for "last known good configuration". Choose that and hit enter. It should restore your registry to where it was last working properly.
