Just was curious where the name Die Antwoord came from, because it sounded awfully dutch. South Africa, obviously.

Bump!

These guys are awesome! I've finally found someone who respects electronic music the way it deserves: there are other funny artists out there, but I like how original their tunes are - it's like Aphex Twin finally hooked up with a bilingual rapper and his younger sister:

I listened to Fatty Boom Boom earlier this week and I'm hooked... hence my avatar :D

I think she needs to ditch the guy and start thinking about a solo career.

She's attractive and scary enough to be famous on her own, but it would completely spoil the fun in a market saturated with creepy singers :p

Don't really get that comparison.

Thought that the beat in "Zef Side" was pretty nice, though.

this is one of the few things i know lots of people are digging but struggle to find what others seem to find in it. I will admit they elicit a weird feeling that is uncomfortable. There is just something about them that is ed up but in a way that is beyond a well practiced routine. I guess that is the point of art. But if someone told me they gave a bunch of crack addicts microphones and 300$ to make a music video and this was the result, i don't know if I would of questioned the truth of their claim. I have a hard time finding anything of musical merit for me so i'm guessing the allure is more the strangeness of the performance. It is unique although i wouldn't say in a musical way. But then again, everything i hear just sounds slightly wrong and maybe that weirdness is something people resonate with. Lots of well known respected musicians like them so I was curious about them. IT was clouser , guy who does soundtracks and played keyboards in NIN for a few tours and some recordings that made me aware of them and he is beyond competent as a musician so ya. Strange is all i can really say.
