Submissions don't need to be voted on to be accepted anymore - everything goes live instantly. Only the quality of the data gets voted on.
That being said, if you need votes on anything send me the links and I can check them out. |
I've always wondered this, how does one get the ability to vote on something? |

You have to contribute enough correctly-entered releases yourself. I'm not sure what that amount is, but I think I got the ability to vote after 10-15? |

It's only one of the many requirements - you basically need to do a bit of everything on the site. The system is automatic nowadays but the way it picks voters is only known to the site developers. |

Ah okay.
I've contributed a few, but nobody ever votes on them =/ |

Eh? I know this isn't about vinyl, but I think that article is relevant to people's concerns about the direction of Discogs. |

Oh Bas, you dick. You deleted your post?
Bas posted the same article. I was just quoting your post and telling Bas to read the thread as you had already posted it ;) |

I thought it was a very interesting read. And. personally. I wish they didn't do the digital thing. I liked Discogs being a huge depository of knowledge and also helping people find the rare older releases. |

So much for jumping on the damn web 2.0-wagon....how long till TA converts to Ajax, rounded corners and non-threatening baby blue "post this on Twitter"-buttons?
The buy digital part is just...nah. I didn't know it was a joint effort with Juno, though. In that case, it's useless. If Discogs even charge an extra fee, the whole thing's just lame.
Now that the site's been wikified, there's no quality control before releases go through either. Let's hope this won't affect the quality of the submissions on a critical scale. Remember, the database is still HUGE, and imo very useful even if the layout's gone a bit messy. |
