Thoughts on PvD Love Parade Weekend...

| I didn't attend Love Parade over the weekend, or The Love From Above, but the 2 broadcasted sets I did hear, Love Parade's 20 minute radio set and the Pre-Party set, were disappointing to say the least. It seems as if PvD is getting bored with the musik out today. He is still playing ing Society, as if it is a good tune. It isn't worthy. There are alot of quality tunes out right now that I'm surprised PvD isnt spinning. Maybe it's just me, but it seems as if Paul doesn't get up for these events like he used to. The beginning of the Pre-Party set was almost boring, with the laid back housey beats. I know Paul likes to experiment, but I miss those days back in 99 when he used to blow your mind. Anyone else notice a change in Paul's sets lately? |

dunno WTF you're talking about..i thought this is the best weekend he's had in a long time. as a matter of fact i just burned the pre-party and loveparade sets onto a CD that i'm currrently jamming out to in my car. I can't wait till Swamper posts the essential mix.

Best in a long time???? His Mayday set blew away this crap from the weekend. Minus his 1st song during the 20 minute Mayday broadcast, it was beat. IMO, the Pre-Party wasn't anything special either. I guess I am spoiled from his Twilo performances of a few years back, when he used to leave it all on the turntables. |

| i'm a fan of his more melodic sets..i thought his set here in houston last october sucked. his best sets are always in england and germany. |

uhm dude.. you have downloaded the wrong ing sets.
Throw them away and get 01-paul_van_dyk-essential_mix_(loveparade_2002)-1real.mp3. (2hrs!)
I'm blown out of my chair here. It's AMAZING :eyespop:
It is as good as his Hr_xxl set from last year. |

I admit I haven't had the time to get that set, I have to snatch it, and take a listen... anyone have a tracklist for that one? Is it 2 hours??? |

i think it was brilliant how he used those tracks to build towards the hype stuff.. he is the master of the set up.
true, not my type of music either.. but it sounds good when it's all put together in a set. |

Yes, I agree with you there. He likes building sets with this kind of prog/house. I just don`t like it at all.
And yes, Paul can mix everything from house to some weird german (check his EM track14-15).

Man just because the guy is still playing "ing Society" doesn't mean he's getting bored with the music, many djs still play tracks that are old possibly just to buy time (can't say, im no dj). A dj doesn't necessarily have to play new white labels and promos he/she got all the time.
And also PVD's essential mix kicked serious ass, except for that weird tune that nobody can seem to ID. i know im gonna download it when i find it |
