So i know there was another thread on this, and i went through all the pages in here and couldn't find it, and tried to search, but search is down atm...

posted this in cor, but the ipad's potential is starting to look immense!

check these out...

lemur is WAY too pricey, they're gonna have to make a unit under 500 to stay in business imo...
the ipad has the apps linked below which will most likely be under 10 dollars... and you can have all of them... not just one system :)

LINK1
this one's on the itouch etc already and is awesome, and fully customisable... will be unbelievable on the ipad... pretty similar to the lemur, but it's $6 :)

Link2

this one has a big list of all music stuff coming up for the ipad, the coolest ones are the 2nd and 3rd pics,... great midi & djing controllers... :)

Link3 ELECTRIBE!

electribe on the ipad... pure awesome imo :)

Yeah, I basically just want the lemur software on the ipad system right now thanks. I want to be able to make my own interfaces, preferably with customisable physics too.

Mind you, I still think that for normal DJing you can't beat real faders, so I doubt this will have a big impact outside control of DIY instruments like MAX and reaktor patches.

I think there's a lot of potential here but will not be getting version 1. Apple has a tendency to always hold back until next release. They've proven it with every single thing they have released.

very true..
as i said on ITM as well, the really big problem with it is just no professional quality connectivity to get your stuff OFF the ipad... if someone makes a ipod USB-> quality line out kind of thing it'll be wicked... :)

i just think there's lots of potential anyways, should be cool! :)
agree about first release though haha

I think connectivity is the least of its issues personally. Its not like your going to be running a full featured production rig on an ipad. Ableton for ipad isn't going to happen.
Its going to be a lemur replacement at best. Considering it comes in at $2500 cheaper, thats still a great deal, but exchanging control templates with the ipad isn't really an issue like exchanging session files might be.

Yea, I'm thinking of it as a controller too. Anyone that thinks it's going to be a fully fledged operating enviroment any time soon needs to really re-think their position on it once they go read up on it some more.

yeah this is true, i'm just saying, there is potential for it (if you watch the electribe vid) for it to be even more.

i never said it would be a replacement for a full sequencer, but i could see it as a drum-machine if it had better connections..

obviously the lemur replacement is the most obvious, and it's most versatile feature, but yeah, has potential to become an outboard piece of gear :)
for me, it would be great making percussive loops (for example) on the go, then just recording them into my daw when i got home for example :)

ipad is the start of something to be great, its just not there as v.1 imo. once it works with ableton and u can connect a real soundcard and a midicontroller to it im saved! and hopefully 13" instead of 10. and with blueray. actually really a macbook pro touchscreen is what i want. the ipad seems too weak and toy-ish imo but its atleast a start of something. to use it as a midicontroller seems fun.

edit: lol everything i said had been said already, u dont need to read this. move on. :p
