| weeeeeee!!!! Nice roll! Funny thing, I was about to leave my house but decided I should blow the candle off in case of an earthquake. I walked to the kitchen and start hearing crackling. Then came the earthquake! :eyes: |

Now I wasn't in Cali for Northridge, and have def felt stronger shakes before (up in SF, but the one in Tokyo was the scariest since I was 30 stories up in a hotel :-p), but that EQ lasted forever. About 75-90 seconds timed. the house I was in just kept rolling and rolling w/ chimes going of, things swaying, etc. The rolling was light in smooth, but damn it lasted forever. This was in a house on the very top of a hill in in Westchester right near LAX (nice view of downtown from there when it's clear!))
A bunch of us in the house thought were we just getting sick personally...light-headed. Almost sea sick or the the start of getting food poisening. Then we realized everythign else was moving around us.
Oh yeah, the crazy part is that I got online and saw the initial red-spot on the USGS website while the ground was still rolling and having to make sure to hold my balance while standing up. |
