This started off as a demo track for Anakratis' new Sylenth soundbank (and all synth parts in it are only from that soundbank) but it's additionally turned into a nice little vocal track too! :)
Still WIP and there's still no transitional or FX in there yet so some of the changes are a bit abrupt!
Apart from the fact that its a WIP it has an excellent feel to it and the vocals work realy well in the mix.
Looking forward to the finished article;)

thanks for listening :)
Might even send this one to a label

Sounding great Geoff! The wifey has an excellent trance voice. Can I borrow her for a month or so? :)
The synths sound awesome as well - Anakratis did a killer job on that Sylenth1 bank!

I just left feedback on the Anjuna boards ;)
Well done, old man.

Cheers Dave :)
I think you'll find that Owen asked to borrow the misses first :D  Now, to be flattered or appaled.....
The soundbank is VERY usable tbh. I've bought about 4-5 Sylenth soundbanks and there's usually a fair bit of audio demo friendly stuff that's tricky to mix but he's covered several bread and butter bases really well.
The only thing I've done to the presets is ditch the Sylenth reverb which is a bit poo and automated some of the filters etc.
I've had three or foue emails and PMs asking which Arp preset the main riff is. Sorry to say it's a melodically programmed standard lead patch

Actually, I have listened to this a few times now and it really is pretty good - especially the vocals.
I had assumed the vocals came from a sample set but from the comments above, I believe they may be from your wife? If so, she has a very pleasant voice, especially for Trance and secondly, what a fab job you did in capturing her vocals.
How long before you get the track finished? (if it were me it would be between a year and never!). I am not what you call "fast" when it comes to completing stuff.:o

Thanks again :)
Yeah it's the misses singing (she wrote the lyrics in fact) and it's the second attempt we've made at recording a track. I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out so far as i'm only using a basic SE2000 mic into a cheap CI2 audio interface. Maybe we just got lucky lol ;)
There's another track I want to finish first (the first one we recorded vocals for in fact) but I suspect I've got a couple of weeks tweaking to get it properly finished.

Well I'll look forward to when you post it here when its finished.
Just goes to show what you can do if you have talent and application; everyone focuses on gear but what you do with it plays the biggest part. It is of course very possible to make crap recordings with great gear.:stongue:

Agreed
I spent a year fecking about with buying this and that and finally settled on a powercore, a handful of VSTs, some KRK RP6s and some 50 headphones.
Learn yer gear and learn it well ;)

You know my opinion already on this track man - bloody awesome with fantastic voice (you got a million dollar talent in your house and you don't know about it yes). Great work as usual G.
