Its hard to fault the paparazzi given like you said, "They are just people doing their jobs" in an industry that is very very comptetitive although i sometimes feel they don't exercise enough due diligence in knowing when to draw the line between doing their job and trespassing.
The actual problem stems from the execs at the magazines that they work for who give them orders to invade the private space of celebrities doing things that most ordinary people do and in the process , open their private lives to the public and sometimes , jeopardize the safety of the celebs and their family.
Ofcourse, if America was not retardedly infatuated with what celebrities do to begin with, we wouldn't need to be having this discussion. |

i think they are terrible. i see them in front of my office every week and they yell and scream and say nasty things to celebs to get a reaction....perfect example, screaming at that one douche from entourage yelling "come one you fcuking ******, do something" all the while taking photos of face as he walks down the street.
or following celebs and right when they park, they call the police saying their car is parked illegally/whatever.
i think they are pretty scummy. |

| Absolutely some of the worst people on the planet working a "job" that was born out of necessity in an industry that's absolutely absurd. If I was being hounded by paparazzi anytime I farted, I would gladly hit those cunts with my car and pay the fine. |

Personally think it's time the govt stepped in and legislated the industry under stalking laws.
My g/f buys all the mags and as long as people like her support them, the demand is driven. |

Exactly. Paparazzi are pretty much "legal" stalkers. If you stalked someone, you would probably get arrested, but I guess if you have a camera with you, it makes it OK.
Actually had a run-in with my first "paparazzi" at Ultra. Somehow a paparazzi snuck in/faked credentials to get a photo pass. Basically harassed me, Deadmau5 and Tommy Lee non-stop after the gig and even in the van to leave, just trying to get worse-than-cellphone pics of Tommy Lee. When he was told to off (i.e. in the way of security, the artists and even the golf carts) he said "i'm just doing my job man!".
Through friends I even know tons of paparazzi who even convinced themselves it's a real job. I know one of my friends that said on a message board (which had some paparazzi) that they pretty much suck (said most of the things I said) and one of the "regulars" was one, with him and tons of sheep fighting for him. He would run off a list of all theses celebrities he "works with" and that he was special and celebs let him take pics. Looking at his site, every single picture is a paparazzi candid, and those that aren't are pretty forced (i.e. if I let them take this, maybe this crappy photog will go away). |
